Safe To Call Your Records a Collection?

Now that is an interesting thought, you may have been a person who has a few records around and never thought of them as a record collection. In reality be it two, three or thousand your records are your collection, filled with important parts of your past by way of music. This collection of yours can be your trip through time, memory jogging and a nice trip down memory lane as often as you want to take it.

I remember when I started buying records they were just records and I did not really think of them as a collection. However it wasn’t long and they received the distinction of being my record collection.

Collecting RecordsMight be fun to think about how and when you started purchasing records. Do you remember the very first record you purchased? Was it a 45 or an album? Do you still have it? If you still have it, when is the last time you played it? One thing is for sure, if you have that first record and you see it or hear it again the memories start to fly, just like that purchase was made yesterday. Of course that goes for all or your records, but that first one holds a very special place in your past. If you still have that first record why not take a look at it, how worn does it look? The condition and amount of wear on that vinyl can determine how popular and meaningful that song might have been and for that matter might still be. That is just something fun to think about

What led you to the first purchase? The artist? The song? A friend? How soon was the second purchase? Was it the same artist? One similar? You see the questions are endless, all questions you can certainly ask yourself as you journey into the past and enjoy being lost with those great memories once again.
