I can assure you that because everyone is different everyone has their own way that they perceive and enjoy their collections. I think the important thing is that regardless what you collect, how you collect it and how focused you are on that collection, it is ultimately important that you find some time to enjoy those collections.
Collections of any kind can be fun, entertaining, time consuming and expensive. But the nice thing about a collection is you can be as involved in it as you choose to be, it is about how involved you want to be, it is harder for some of us to invest a lot of time in this passion but the time you do invest is completely for your personal enjoyment, the same goes for how much money you can invest in that collection and who does not understand that all of us have some form of budget that we follow and for good reason, but money spent on your collection is also for your enjoyment. But one of the real nice things about being a collector is that you have a collection to enjoy when you have time to do so. With a collection when you have some extra cash it can be fun and rewarding to invest in that prize collection. Remember enjoying a collection is not about the size of that collection, how much it cost but it really is about you and the enjoyment it gives you in return.
In my case I have been collecting vinyl records since I was a preteen. That collection has grown substantially over the years. I think I would be safe to say that my love for the music I have collected is strong and is probably enjoyed as much or more today than in the beginning when I was looking for a certain song for whatever the reason might have been. Now when I spend time listening and looking at what I have built it is of course for the love of the music, the sound the vinyl delivers and the memories that are awakened.
Remember I am speaking for myself and that of course everyone is different but there really are a number of things about it that I really enjoy. I really enjoy coming home from work and be able to vanish into my music room for a half hour or hour and lose myself in those sounds that take me to another time and they allow me to drift and enjoy. After that short respite from my busy day, I can honestly tell you that I have a new or at least a better outlook on life, my tensions are diminished, my stress is under control something that my family appreciates a lot.
It really does not matter what it is you collect, it is about that passion you have for it and how you can enjoy it.
