I know that is a hard question and that might well be why so many individuals get their Dad’s neckties, socks or candy, really? Yes, that is what happens when you don’t know. The other fallback item seems to be gift card, oh they are nice for sure, but they do not show much thought, and everyone knows they are available everywhere so not much thought or work goes into making the gift the right gift. Ok it is easy to do one of the things I just mentioned but have you even considered what your Dad might like or want? Believe me when I say I know that Dad’s are hard to get information out of as to what they might like or secretly want. When you ask them the answer is, “oh I don’t need anything, save your money.” Uh huh look out for this line, essentially it is a trap and it is a time when you really should not listen” Secretly all Dad’s would like something they can enjoy, treasure and tell their friends that is what their son or daughter gave them for Father’s Day.
The truth of the matter is simple, if you want to make your father happy then give him a gift that he will not only like but treasure, one he will want to share with his friends and other relatives, something that every time he looks at it he will think of you.
There are a lot of things that would just the right but here is the part that needs you to do some thinking, remember conversations, remember his likes more than needs, think about what things that would bring a smile to his face. Remember you are not trying to be practical you are trying to create a memory that will go on forever.
It is important now that you take the time to get out of the norm and do something that will create smiles and memories for years to come, and you will be very glad you did.
I can honestly say that I am glad that I did create some good memories with just the right gift as a way to say, thank you Dad, I love you. I lost my father some years ago so my opportunities are gone but I remember the smiles I got with that special something. I guess I created a lasting memory for me too.
